Instances Averaging High CPU

This bot identifies compute instances that have been averaging a high CPU over a defined period of timemeasured in days. By default, the bot tracks instances that have been averaging over 80% CPU over 14 days, but both of these criteria can be adjusted. This bot supports Amazon Web Services (AWS) only through the use of its CloudWatch metrics.

Recommended Action

Notify the instance owner of the high CPU usage. Consider using the resize capability in to increase the number of cores available to process the workload or rearchitecting the system to reduce the workload.
